Iranians Expelled Over Teen Affair
Shipping agents are playing dumb over the deportation of two Iranian flag of convenience seafarers understood to have been rumbled in Port Kembla with forged documentation.

Industry sources say the pair was sent home last week before the Maltese-flagged, Teen, arrived at Portland, Tasmania, where agents refused to allow an ITF inspection. [full story]

IR Promises Crash on Motorway
State Government has "gone to sleep at the wheel" on Sydney�s Western Orbital, allowing employment conditions indistinguishable from those being advocated by Federal Workplace Relations Minister, Tony Abbott.

CFMEU spokesman, Peter Zaboyak, made that claim as members of his union and the AWU voted for a series of rolling stoppages, beginning with a 48-hour walk-out this week, that will halt progress on the $1.7 billion project. [full story]

Telstra Pigs Out on Indian
Telstra joint venture, IBM GSA, is giving its workforce another dose of curry with plans to contract out 300 high-tech jobs to Indian-based contractors.

Industry insiders, on condition of anonymity, confirmed the Australian outfit, which has slashed jobs in recent years, had asked two Indian companies to contract for the work. [full story]
