Allianz Claims on Sick and Dying

Stabbings Ground Job Cuts � For Now
The in-flight stabbing of two Qantas flight attendants has prompted the Federal Government to walk away from airline demands for reduced crewing.

Aviation Minister John Anderson confirmed, this week, that Government would not support industry demands for a 28 percent fall in crew-passenger ratios but FAAA official, Daryl Watkins, is warning of a re-think when memories dim of the near disaster on a Melbourne-Launceston flight. [full story]

Red Light for Cut Price Labour Hire
Unions have struck a blow in the battle for job security with a ruling that workers engaged by labour hire companies could not undercut the wages of fellow workers.

The decision of the NSW IRC, ruled that workers employed by Adecco working at Kellogg�s Botany warehouses must be paid the same wages as Kellogg employees. [full story]

Sacked Workers� Ultimate Insult
Optus employees whose jobs will be taken by foreign workers are being expected to train their replacements before being sacked.

The ten workers, members of Optus� SAP IT team, have been told they will lose their performance bonuses if they don�t train the Singaporean workers who will take their jobs.  [full story]
