Friends and Brothers of Organized Labor, Joy Mining Machinery is at it again! The Joy Facility at Mt Vernon, Il. USA,has been the location of the latest Joy labor relations tactics. The International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers Local 483 have been without a Contract with Joy since March 17,2001. They have been on Stike, locked out and then laid-off! The Union has filed two charges with the U.S. National Labor Relations Board.The Board ruled in favor of the Union once concerning mandantory overtime. Only about 30 Union employees are currently working at Joy,Mt Vernon out of around 175. Without a contract!
